Is therapy necessary for me (my child)?
All children and adults experience emotional and behavioral challenges. Often, our coping and problem-solving skills, and support from others allow us to manage these challenges. Sometimes, these challenges are more than we can handle and they interfere with our functioning at home, work, and/or school. In these cases, therapy may be helpful.
How often will we meet for therapy and for how long?
I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis. CBT is a short-term treatment. Most of my clients complete therapy within 3 -12 months. The exact length of your therapy depends on a number of factors including the nature of a your concerns and your therapy goals. At the beginning of therapy, I will provide an estimate of the length of time needed to achieve your goals.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider. This means I do not accept insurance directly. At the end of each session, you will receive a billing statement with all the information required by insurance carriers to provide out-of-network reimbursement. Prior to starting therapy, contact your insurance provider to find about their reimbursement rate for out-of-network therapy provided by a licensed clinical psychologist. You can also use your Health Spending or Flexible Spending Account for therapy expenses
