My primary approach to therapy is cognitive behavioral (CBT). CBT is a scientifically-proven treatment that emphasizes the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It focuses on learning new ways of thinking and acting that lead to improvements in well-being. For clients for which CBT is not a good match, I am committed to finding the approach that best fits the client’s unique needs and has a strong base of research indicating that it works. For more information about the services I offer children/adolescents and adults, please see below.
Children/Adolescents
There are no age limits when it comes to emotional and behavioral concerns. Parents who feel their child is experiencing unusual levels of worry, sadness, and/or behavioral problems should seek professional advice sooner rather than later.
I specialize in providing CBT to children and adolescents. In my work with children, I collaborate with children, parents, and (when necessary) schools to develop the best solutions. Parenting consultation and support in conjunction with individual child/adolescent CBT or independent of a child’s participation in therapy is key part of my practice.
